Mathematics is much more than just using the right formula to get the right answer. It's a way to explore and understand our world - and it's also a beautiful world of its own.
As a former professor of mathematics and math education, I am dedicated to sharing the joy of math with students at all levels - and developing and improving educational resources that engage learners in a mathematically rich way.
Currently, I am helping to develop and teach a middle school math program for a local independent school. I also conduct math enrichment programs in my community, and I tutor math students at all levels.
Parents and teachers, I am happy to share ideas about bringing math play into your homes and schools. Wouldn't it be great if your children loved doing math? My young kids (ages 13, 9 and 4) ask for math questions at bedtime - just for fun. Maybe yours will too!
