Mathematics is much more than just using the right formula to get the right answer. It's a way to explore and understand our world - and it's also a beautiful world of its own.
As a former professor of mathematics and math education, I am dedicated to sharing the joy of math with students at all levels - and developing and improving educational resources that engage learners in a mathematically rich way.
For example, I recently developed and taught a middle school math program for a local independent school. Currently I conduct community math enrichment programs, and I tutor math students at all levels.
Parents and teachers, I'm happy to share ideas about bringing math play into your homes and schools. Wouldn't it be great if your children loved doing math? My kids (ages 14, 10 and 5) ask for math questions at bedtime - just for fun. Maybe yours will too!
